High Power AC/AC Converter

Hej. I am trying to design a high power - 2000/400 V or 1000/400 step down transformer using power electronics. Initially, I went with the traditional AC-DC-AC conversion but the cost of passive components is quite expensive at this power. I also looked up for the Silicon Carbide based MOSFET from CREE for my application. It was approximately close to my requirements. This device is installed on LV distribution network.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome. If you have any material or reference designs it would be really helpful.
