Hello,

I am currently checking the multimedia features of my 2003 Chevy conversion van. In the passenger area I found this fuse box and I would like to check if the fuses are OK. However, I am having trouble to get the fuses out! Also, I have never seen this type of fuse box before. I tried removing the nuts, but they only hold the fuse holder to the panel. The fuses themselves can't be moved, only pushed in a tiny bit. Does anybody have some advice?

Cheers,

Looks like they might be circuit breakers that pop out due to an over-current condition, and are reset by pushing back in.

Hello guys,

this sounds reasonable. This means that as they haven't popped out, everything is OK in that region and I can carry on with my checks at other areas.

Thanks very much!

Those devices are definitely resettable circuit breakers that pop out when they trip, and then get pushed back in to reset them. In the fuse box I had in the van that I had the breakers had quarter inch "faston" blade terminals and since I did not have the right crimper for the style lugs I had to solder the wires into the push-on connectors. But for a vehicle application you don't want screw terminals.
