I'm looking to find the pinout of an ignition switch that my friend bought. 6 contacts. I bought a multi input logic analyzer thinking I could do it with that but I don't know, I didn't realize I needed to inject a signal. Any advice? Thanks in advance. By the way, the seller has no info, the numbers on it didn't pull up any revelant results.

Certainly a continuity tester of some kind is required. No question about that. Also a key so that the switch can be operated is needed.
The good news is that you already have one position identified, which is OFF, which should be the only position the key can be removed in. At least in the cars I owned. or drove. The second position easy to identify should be the "start" position, which SHOULD be spring returned to the position next to it.
