Help wiring a capacitor into water pump

I’m installing a shallow well pump and the chord was too short so I wanted to replace it with a longer chord. I thought I noted where all wires went however there were more wires than I noted. Now I’m not sure where anything goes. The pump has three wire coming out of it, as does my power supply chord. However one of the wires from the power supply goes straight to ground, leaving only two to connect to the three coming from pump, and the two capacitor wires. I’m not sure what goes where and I have very little understanding of capacitors and how they wire in. Also I noticed the red and yellow wires coming from the pump have short insulated sleeves where as the brown one doesn’t. Does that mean something? This is a 110 pump

At 1HP, it could possibly have a different value of start winding, which you would need to identify as the higher resistance, and the one the cap would connect to..
Ok. Then the other end of the cap would go to my neutral? And that still leaves two wires coming from the pump and one coming from the power supply. Do those three go together?

No, on a 3 wire motor it would indicate a start and a run winding, up to 1hp, the windings could be equal, otherwise the cap is connected to AC live , the other end to the start winding, i.e. in series..
The run winding would go across the L & N.

You may not have the N.C. start switch.

Ok. I’m catching on I think. So then my two power supply wires go to which of the three from the pump?

Who makes the pump? I found my pump's information on the internet.
I looked on line. The only wiring info they show is how to wire in the pressure switch. I'm assuming because the capacitor is already wired in when you buy it.
