I have a board mounted circuit breaker and for some reason the schematic diagram in the datasheet is giving me trouble.


So my head is thinking I should have continuity from pin 1 to pin 3 and when the breaker trips I lose that continuity. That's wrong apparently and I guess I'm asking for help on how I'm supposed to interpret that schematic so in the future I don't get another dud board made.

IMHO thats a badly drawn datasheet. The correct info is given buried deep in the data:



This shows 1-2 is the NC connection, and 1-3 is the NO 'tripped' condition (tripping activates the AUX circuit).

 

Thanks! I didn't even notice that. Good to know I shouldn't see it too often then.

 

I have never been a fan of IEC electrical symbols, much prefer the NEMA version.
