I need to run a treadmill motor (rated max 130 VDC ) at speeds between 100 and 500 RPM with a 75/25 duty cycle After reading for weeks now, it seems to me that many of KB Electronics drives could be used -- but which should I select? Clearly some would be better/worse than others for this application. Thanks-----

 

The KB line have basically two types, a SCR bridge version and a PWM type, the latter being the better choice, especially running at lower RPM's.
What is the power (HP/amperage)?
There is also the same variety of T.M. controllers, SCR/PWM.
Are you retaining the flywheel?

Application is honey extractor (centrifuge) with two inch pulley on motor and basket The basket pulley can't be any larger. RPM needed will vary between 75 and 300

Preferably powered from 110 volt, 15 amp outlet, but I could go to 220 volts.

I have three motors: 95VDC, 18 amps; 100 VDC, 22 amps; 115 VDC, ??? Amps.

I am flexible on the flywheel. What do you suggest?

I have a choke for each motor. Should I use it?

You only need the choke if using the SCR type controller.
It would be advantageous to gear down, this will lower the current demand on the motor, keeping the flywheel would be optional, but require the drive start at zero setting.
There is the MC-60 T.M. SCR controller, or the later MC-2100 which will require a small pwm control circuit to run it.
