It looks like wants about 150 ma in the leds. If so his Darlington with the led in the emitter should be ok.

Where did get the 150 mA?

 

18 volts, 1 led and 100 ohms.

I think the TS just forgot to modify the value of resistor.

 

Thank you everyone but I will not be using the circuit to drive LED's. The LED's are just indicators that the circuit is doing what I want. in the order i want, I do apologise for any mix up. i just need a current boost in front of the LED's that would possibly blow them as they will be replaced by a different component.

 

The BC108 may be under-rated for your un specified load. More information up front might have saved about 20 posts.
