Hello, I'm new to electronics and we were asked to make a Binary and Hexadecimal Count Sequence using 7448 and 7493. I tried simulating it on Tinkercad and it worked. However, upon making a prototype, nothing lit up except for the 7-segment decoder. Here is a pic of my circuit.
As convenient as those Dupont jumper wires are, I try not to use them.
I am sure that this is not the one and only time that you will be testing a circuit on a breadboard. You will soon learn that it makes it difficult to locate wiring errors.
Instead, use short hookup wire and create a sensible colour code.
Here is an example of a very complex test circuit on a breadboard neatly laid out.
