May be some of you have used this ADC ADDI7004(or similar chip) in your design.
I need some help to diagnostic a product containing this chip.
I am trying to understand this ADC like a blackbox(for debugging purpose).
It has 4 input channels and to my surprise 8(pairs) digital output.
I donot see (in block diagram and datasheet) them mentioning if there is a switch to enable those 8 outputs.
I was expecting: either there would be 1(pair) serial output or 4(pair) serial output.
I am not able to understand why are there 8 serial DOUT from 4 Analog input.

Google LVDS "Low-voltage differential signaling"

It uses a differential pair to move each bit, DOUT0P and DOUT0N for example are a single bit output, a differential pair- the chip outputs 8 bit words over 16 wires.

Lot's of wires, but it's very fast, quiet and can be used over much longer distances.

Hi Snsacell,

Thanks for your feedback. Does that mean...in this ADC...there is a differential output for each analog input.
i.e. INP_A => DOUT0P and DOUT0N
INM_A => DOUT1P and DOUT1N

Please help me understand this ADC
