Help identify camera module

Was gifted a cheap RC drone with built in camera recently and as an adult, I’ve have more fun with it than I care to admit.

My one gripe is that the built in camera has a narrow FOV fixed lens and it is impossible to fly it from the camera view.

Given the broad availability of these cheap cameras, I was hoping to find the identical sensor and FPC arrangement but with a fisheye lens.

The sensor is 8x8mm square and roughly 4.2mm thick. It has a 40mm FPC cable and importantly a 20 pin connector on the end. I believe it is a 0.3MP VGA camera.

I’ve searched for a good long while and mostly find 24 pin OVxxxx cameras for the ESP32 or 15 pin IMX219 camera for the RPi.

This is connected to a BK7231U WiFi SOC.

Im hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction for identifying this camera.

The only markings are “T-3” and “01 20” which are PIN number identifications.

Thanks in advance!

You might do much better getting a lens to put in front of the camera to increase the field of view.be That should be possible, and maybe a change-over mechanism could be created.

Certainly an option. It doesn’t have the mount for some of the common M12 modular lenses so attaching something reliably might be tricky. Not a bad option if I strike out though

Adding a lens would avoid having to struggle with camera connections, and since it is not likely that there is a standard arrangement that could be quite a struggle indeed. one additional option could be a curved mirror to create a wider field of view.

No clue if it will match, but I ordered a fisheye version of the OV2640, a similar camera. It has a fixed, but thread on lens. Hoping both of the 8mm body camera have the same lens attachment thread
