Could you produce a schematic focused on that chip? Have you identified what chips is it supposed to be driving?

Isn't it connected to the one next to it?

 

It might be a switching power supply IC since there is an inductor (L801) right next to it.

 

Judging by the surrounding parts it is a complete switchmode converter (controller, switch, rectifier), but it could be a driver that also bucks or boosts a drive supply from some other supply. It does have a very large number of surrounding small resistors and capacitors compared with most single-chip switchers.

Good point. 12 pins is a lot for a single chip converter as well. A real head scratcher.
