I remember a note about micro led that achieve over 100% efficiency (you can google it), maybe a JT with micro leds printed by serigraphy over a circuit board... will be cheaper and better, also if it get smaller will be produce less heat... another improvement: enclosing the inductor, transformer, coil couple inside a MU metal....
