Hi,
For my circuit I have decided to use HCS301 Encoder and HCS500 Decoder ICs.
HCS301 IC needs to be programmed prior to use with Crypt Key, Serial No, Manufacturer’s key, Synchronisation Value, Configuration Value.
I am returning to electronics after 3 decades, as hobby now, so need some help. I can get programs online, however I don’t know what would be best device to interface with the chip for programming.
I also don’t understand how to obtain Crypt Key and Manufacturer’s Key.

Detailed instructions for programming are available here: https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/50033b.pdf
The manufacturers code is an arbitrary crypto secret, and it is made intentionally obscure, even to employees of companies programming the devices.

It is generated from two custodial keys so no one person has possession of the actual manufacturer’s key. This is to prevent cloning of a manufacturer’s remote by a competitor. If you are looking for a particular manufacturer’s key (e.g. Ford, BMW, etc.) you are entirely out of luck unless you want to do some industrial espionage.

Otherwise, you just make up your two custodial keys and keep them safe.

As far as programming, the PRO MATE II programmer is specified: https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/51031f.pdf

I hope that’s not really the color scheme!

Oh my God, I can't look at that. What the hell? Is that some kind of deterrent? They actually want people to not use the software?

I am actually offended by that picture and I can't explain why. It's too early in the day for the kind of introspection it would take to figure it out.

I can only assume that someone in marketing thought colorizing it that way would make it attractive. Clearly that can’t be how it looks in practice, it would be unusable.
