Newbie question.
I just found out about boost converters and was wondering if I can use them at the output of a l293d h-bridge(or maybe a tip120 transistor[yes old tech, I know]) to gain back the voltage lost to "dropout".

I'm sorry if I posted this at the wrong forum

I am sure that can be made to work somehow but it sounds highly impractical. Have you tried to sketch it out to see how many parts it would add to the circuit?

It would probably be better to boost the voltage going to L293D VCC2 to account for the voltage drop in the chip.
