Here's what im looking to do.
My mother in law, god rest her soul, was in a band in the early 90's and when she past this year we had someone remaster and digitize one of the songs she wrote.
So what im trying to do is create a monument at the grave site that when a button is pressed it will play that particular song.

I did a search for programable sound buttons/boxes but they dont have the storage space. So i think im going to have to end up using a simple mp3 player hooked to a speaker. It has to be self contained meaning no incoming power supply, which leaves me with solar as the only option.
Im struggling to find a suitable power source as i have no experience with charging circuits.

The mp3 player i was looking at is auto start on power but i will need it to power off after song finishes.

If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AAC!
Since that player charges via USB, consider a waterproof USB solar charger something like these:

It's possible that the earphone jack supports a pause/play function. If not, other players do. Maybe hack a set of earphones that incorporates the button for start/stop and audio out.

Alternately, search Amazon et. al. for a solar powered speaker, maybe with an mp3 player built in.

Sorry about your loss.

Thank you for your condolences.
I'm definitely going to have to buy one of those solar chargers and try it, worse comes to worse ill have a new charger for my phone.
The play function from the headphones might work, if the mp3 player is only loaded with that song and will power off itself afterwards and play on press from headphone button.
