Hello, and thank you for being here.
I am going to try to attack this post a little differently then my last one on this subject.
The last time I posted i got a lot of negative feedback. Comments on the impossibility of
this task. Ok. This is where I am now. I know for certain what I am trying to do can be
done. Confident of that. So naysayers hold your tongue. I really would appreciate it.
The rover itself. Will be land based. Many things going on there that we can discussed but the
main thing is how to communicate with this rover. At first everyone said cellular
was the only option that was viable. I have found out otherwise. there are already two options
that i am aware of. PSK31 and, SDR, are there more ways? Is there a gentlemen among
us who is wise enough to oversee such a unconventional plan. It would help me tremendously
not to have to become an expert on one of these methods only to have brought my level
of understand up just enough to know that I pick the wrong method! ya trying to avoid
that. The expectations of this rover will be: GPS, Servo control, DC motor control, Solar
charging and, last and in no way least. Image relay. Still images? (probably, due to bandwidth).
As you can imagine everything would be kept minimal. Ideas on how this vehicle can remain
safe, travel oceans, return home and, other details such as this have also been worked out.
Well the return voyage not soo much, perhaps. Oh one other thing that was asked last time is.
why not use cellular? its the mere principle of establishing my own link. Owned and operated
by me or whoever else may attempt the same. I did see an Arduino satellite. easy to find.
really put alot of ideas in my head about SDR but wow. alot to take in... Hope to hear from you!
Thanks...
