The open glass should be OK but water (even cold water) boils in a vacuum.

No, that's where I have the problem. "Nothing" or zero, is the very best concept we have in mathematics and science to describe the condition where there is NOT something.

So if the only content of the glass is a vacuum, ie "nothing" is in the glass, therefore the glass has zero contents, therefore it cannot possibly be "full" as we have deduced that it has zero contents.

The glass can be "full" of air as air is something.

 

Of course, nothing is something.

The whole universe began from a singularity of nothing and will end back into nothing.

I realize that the OP was posting his question in fun, but the fact is that whether you say the glass is half full (as an optimist supposedly would) or half empty (as a pessimist supposedly would), the actual amount of water is the glass is unchanged (as any realist knows.)

I am sorry to complain, but why did you only post a picture of a half empty glass, and not include a second picture to show what a half full glass looks like.

I have been feeling a bit down today, and logged on here to cheer myself up, but after seeing your picture of a half empty glass, I feel even worse.

I have searched the internet for pictures of half full glasses. I found thousands of pictures of half empty, but not a single half full one.

I even went down to the kitchen to photograph my own half full glass, but after twelve attempts, all twelve glasses ended up half empty.

Please somebody post a picture of a half full glass, just to cheer me up a little.

Trouble is, no matter how hard I try, I can't make that work for the twelve glasses in the kitchen. They all ended up completely empty

 

Two possible methods:

Centrifuge

Put cardboard over glass. Flip. Quickly remove cardboard while on counter. Leave for wife.


Funny thing, the image will look the same.
