For this new version you need the store pulse to go Low briefly to store the count, then back High to latch it, so use the /Q, pin 7, output.I have made good progress with my ongoing frequency counter project. I am using
CD4510s and CD4511s since they latch the data. It has been a great learning experience
for a newbie. Since the CD4511s don't do ripple blanking, I added logic to handle that.
The counter control circuit isn't quite there yet. The RESET signal works in
that if I feed a signal of 5 Hz into pin# 15 of the "Units" CD4510, the circuit counts to "5"
and resets as it should. The STORE signal does not hold the display and so there is a lot of jitter.
I want to get this project done so any help would be greatly appreciated. Please see
the attachment for further details and a scope image of the control signals.
