i want to know exact defination of forward voltage drop when diode is forward biased please explain in detail.
Quite simply, it's the voltage difference between anode and cathode of the diode, due to the diode passing current.i want to know exact defination of forward voltage drop when diode is forward biased please explain in detail.
That is a good point. There are also Schottky diodes which have a threshold in 0.2 to 0.3 Volt range. There are many types of diodes which are customized for different applications. It is a very versatile component.
.....and smelled of old boiled cabbage! That is a good point.
At the risk of dating myself, I recall the day when selenium rectifiers were all the rage. I believe the drawback to these devices were that selenium was toxic.
