There is a lot of discussion regarding fog lights on the Prius forum, with different opinions about their effectiveness. I was 50-50 on the goal - half looking for the visibility and conspicuousness, and half for the looks. The black plastic inserts are pretty out of place. As mentioned earlier I got a kit that includes fogs, turn signals and driving lights. I bought these on eBay.
Dennis, you are right that the OEM harness should include the right hook-ups. Unfortunately, that is a not the case. They use a different lighting wiring harness for the Prius Four and the Prius Four Touring trims.
The kit came with a wiring harness, but there isn't much right about it. Wires don't reach the right destination, weird placement of the inline fuse and so forth. In fact I just came back from a two hour trek to find 1/4 inch wire loom conduit to extend the harness. I am running a separate fused circuit for the lights.
Seeing deer as early as possible is critical. I've got Clearwater Lights' Darla lights on my bike.
