the purpose of the flexible coupling is to connect two shafts that are misaligned.
the "flexibility" in this type seem to be different:

if hole diameter is larger than shaft diameter, shaft contact is not a large surface area, contact is only in points. this means during rotation wear points would appear at contact points. perhaps tightening it in few iterations may get the wear correct for misalignment.

if hole diameter matches shaft diameter, then flex will be somewhere else, such as shaft. this will create asymmetrical load and wear the bushing.

there are other possible explanations and it would be interesting to know what really goes on but whatever it is, i doubt it would change my mind that is worth it.

"Flexible" is an English word that appeared in other listings for products they identified as from competitors—so they put it in as a keyword to influence search results.

They almost certainly speak little or no English, or they are using Amazon SEO without caring whether they are wasting the time of people who actually want a flexible coupler.
