I happened onto a Netflix called "Behind the Curve" listening and watching these people makes me astonished and confused about their way of thinking. I believe for those promoting the idea is all about fame and money.

Most of them know nothing of mathematical models, they just keep flapping their mouth long enough with a small amount of imagination to make the rest of the sheep follow that line of thinking.

We know the bottom %80 of the population some of which take notice while others just don't care, while the upper %20 intellectual thinker laugh at the stupidity.

What do you think. So, ya I got board and took an interest in these flakes.

Edit: Oh and if you are one, my apologies now.

Apparently a group of "them" are going to Antarctica to prove their point. Apparently the north pole is in the center of their flat Earth and Antarctica is actually a wall of ice that keeps the water in the oceans from falling off the edge.

There are so many things that they could observe in their daily lives that would disprove their theory but, like many of those who chose to live on the fringe, they convince themselves that it doesn't...

They had a gyroscope paid $20k to prove it. But, from what I got out of it, it didn't and nothing more said about it. So then a guy thought let's shoot a laser, Um really? Tells you how smart they are as well as scientific. They couldn't dial the laser beam down small enough, then gave up, scratching their heads they decided to do it every 5 feet or so, then the words wow and didn't expect that came out of their mouths, then no more on it.

No matter what you tell them they can't see through the dogma, if they do they will have to face the fact they spent so much time, gathering together and based their relationships with others who think the same way is not correct. If it were a cult I would understand, but it's not any different.

Some five weeks ago, a group of them coming from different contries held a convention in a small city in our country.

All what they published and said to the press was so ridiculous that inspired just pity not even despise. Lot of them were professionals of various disciplines formed in universities. Simply pathetic.

So, perspective is everything. I can see how they think the earth is flat, they keep saying where ever I look it's flat, so prove to me it isn't. Suddenly I thought if you had a basketball and put a figure scaled to the size of a human on the ball what would they see, would it appear to be flat from their perspective?

Thats a test we should try, who ever is the mathematician on AAC might take a poke at it. Instead of going to Antartica.

Where I live, it isn't obvious that the earth could be flat. We have mountain ranges and hills just about everywhere we look.

Apparently they've never watched a boat sale beyond the horizon. It doesn't stay in sight until it "falls off the edge". I didn't know until recently about their theory that the oceans were held back by a continuous wall of ice.

According to their theory, the sun is about 400 miles away from the north pole. I wonder how far away they think the moon is. If the orbits of Mercury and Venus are on the sun-side of earth, how to they fit between the earth and sun?
