Even if R2's resistance were 1e-99, there would be current through R3. We might not be able to measure it yet, but it still exists mathematically.

What is the maximum resistance value for R2 to cause your 4.5 digit DMM to read 3.00 amperes. Assume for this exercise the DMM has zero error.
