Please am new in electronics, I mean the practical expect. Gain what is needed in school but I feel it's not enough. I want to start designing circuit on my own. I thought of understanding the circuit of built down project. With experience gained from a lot of built project I will able to design mine. I need an advice in addition to that.

Think about something you need or want and how you might build it. Then make it so.

Even if it does not ultimately work you WILL gain some experience.

And don't be discouraged by conflicting answers when you ask a question here or on any forum. Everybody has a different way of doing and explaining things. You very seldom get an answer where all parties agree in circuit building.

I write software for a living and dabble in electronics mostly for fun. In both cases, I've learned the most while trying to complete a project. Choose something to make or fix, even if it's only for acedemic reasons, and see it through from start to finish. You will learn things that you didn't expect to learn.
