Hi guys I have a couple electronics benches that requires lighting and before looking up and buying things I thought I’d make a post maybe someone has some suggestions on good soldering lights.

Thanks,

Tom

Under the riser I would likelyjust run with some LED lighting, similar to what is used on kitchen counters below cabinets. Similar but brighter. Years ago I used a pair of 40 watt fluorescent tubes but today offers so many bright clean LED sources. I still have and use one of those large circular magnifying lamps for tedious work but overall any home improvement store should offer a dozen LED solutions. Years ago I was content with 100 FC (Foot Candles) on my work surfaces but today, being older, I like plenty of light.

Yeah, that "reading" standard of 100 fc works for reading (if your eyes are good).
More light slams your iris shut so you get better depth of field, which is almost as good as putting on 2 pairs of magnifying glasses to find the wobble in a 0.03 drill bit.:D

When life gets picky, more is better, but you don't want that all the time. That's why some lights are called, "task" lighting and some are called, "general" lighting. LED or fluorescent seems to be the way to go right now. At least you have a, "standard" to start with.;)
