I recently got a Robbins & Myers single phase 115/220 1/2hp capacitor start motor and cannot seem to figure out the wiring. There is no wire diagram and I can't find it anywhere online. It has 4 wires, (well 6 including the two for the capacitor), no ground. I've measured the resistance across the leads and they are...
T1 - T2 = 2.6
T1 - T3 = 2.4
T1 - T4 = O.L
T2 - T3 = 2.6
T3 - T4 = O.L
T2 - T4 = O.L

I would like to wire it for 220 if possible. Any ideas at all on how to wire this will be so greatly appreciated! Thank you

This Youtube video may help You should disclose 6 ends with the cap disconnected,
Your motor is 0.5HP so the resistance of the windings, start & run, may be equal..

I believe R&M is still in business, and it should have a website that would provide wire charts for the various motor types. if the model number is readable off the nameplate.

Ok I'll definitely check that out. After further investigation I've found that T1, T2, T3, T5, T6 all have continuity. (T5 & T6) are the cap wires. But unfortunately i can't get to read anything. It's always OL. But it, not any of the rest has continuity with the casing. I could tell where it originally goes through the stator and comes out the other side and I pushed a small needle through the sheathing to see if it had continuity through that part, which it did. I'm no expert on motors but how could they all be connected except one and it's not connected to anything? Thanks
