I stumbled onto their site and liked some of the things I saw about their USB measuring instruments: http://www.elandigitalsystems.com/measurement/measurementfamily.php

The function generators seems pretty impressive in such a small package, as they output ±10 V using the 5 V from the USB (but they don't say whether that's into 50 Ω or not).

If you buy one each of their four USB instrument types in the US, it will set you back a little over a kilobuck.

Actually they do say it is 50 ohms.

0 to +/-10V offset range with a 20mV resolution
50 Ohm output impedance
Output can also be tri-stated to protect sensitive circuitry whilst the function generator is set up
Uses Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) for excellent stability
Now where did I leave that kilobuck? ;)

Yeah, I saw that -- that's just the output impedance. But they don't say whether the device can actually output 10 V into 50 ohms. After years of seeing marketroids creatively not tell all the truth, I'm guessing it'll do about 5 V into 50 ohms. That's still not bad. If it really does 10 V into 50 ohms, that means 20 V open circuit, meaning they multiply the USB's 5 V by four.

Even if it only puts 5 V out into 50 ohms, it's still a pretty nice lookin' piece of gear...

I dont know what your talking about..

I got a set of 300w speakers that run off a 9v battery for $15!

They sound GREAT (If you dont turn them on) ;)

It would be nice to see a complete datasheet on this/these.
