I'm not saying anything factually wrong or morally distasteful and if I am, please point it out to me.
'Ethics' and 'morals' are simply containers, within lies a vast diversity of viewpoints.
A consideration is instinct. Our core beliefs align with our native instincts. As a species, we've come this far based on what we do well. We've built an infrastructure based on consumption, which powers the economy. We've driven species extinct, developed domestic stock, and I'm sure will mass produce synthetics.
I'm an Ashiest as well. I consume both wild and domestic meats. I understand the underlying activity, and yes, do support it through consumption. You may not have a pastor, but any pastor will do, to understand the moral backdrop of a large sector.

I was called to my fathers bed when he fell ill. I'm thinking, we'll get through this, until he performed motions that I've seen many times in nature. I knew at once our destinies.

No, you are not wrong, but the message has a select audience.

U.S. border egg seizures up nearly 40% as prices soar due to avian flu
With eggs getting more and more expensive in the United States, American border agents are scrambling to stop egg smuggling from Canada and Mexico.

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, egg seizures are up nearly 40 per cent compared to the same time last year.

I wonder, if any of those smuggled eggs hatched in US soil, would the chicks be granted citizenship? o_O

Down by the Mexico border, they are even seizing cooked egg products.

I have an acquaintance who owns a border crossing truck company. Crossing a truck across the border takes a long, long time. Not only the bridge queues but the actual customs queues and inspections. It is common for truckers to purchase Mexican scrambled egg tacos for consumption during those long hours. They are both delicious and inexpensive. My acquaintance has now advised the drivers to fully consume those prior to entering the customs yard, as they are immediately confiscated.

The U.S. is making more seizures of illegal eggs than fentanyl at its Canadian and Mexican borders
Since October, U.S. customs officers have made 3,768 seizures of bird and poultry-related products, including eggs, compared to 352 fentanyl seizures
At a No Frills grocery store in Niagara Falls, Ont., just a 10-minute drive from the U.S. border, Americans have been spotted hunting for cheap Canadian eggs. Steve, who works in the store’s dairy department, said he recognizes American egg hunters by their accent. “Because of how they pronounce ‘dollar,’ I know right off the bat they’re American,” Steve said. He opted not to share his last name to avoid trouble at work, but said the American accent is familiar because he has relatives in New York State.

Secretary of Agriculture was pushing backyard flocks. She must know that there's an economy of scale. Small flock means high egg price. I know - I had a small flock for a couple decades. We did it because we couldn't tolerate the antibiotics used by commercial producers.

With bird flu prevalent, I wouldn't want a flock now.

Then she said recent high prices were due to demand for Easter eggs. Then the price drops...

Raised chickens for many years with flocks up to a couple dozen hens. Then, feed price for laying pellets cost more than store bought eggs and didn't even have to fight off the chicken eating predators. I swear there was no way for them to get into the coop but the feathers all over the floor and missing hens proved otherwise. Sold eggs for 1$ to 1.50$ a dozen.
