Hi

I am doing some research on solar cell, just wondering if anyone know the average efficiency of a normal solar cell, it's for my presentation.

there too many different answer on the internet, and a lot of different way to calculate the efficiency, and I have limited knowledge about solar cell, those terms just confusing me.

Thanks bertus, the fist link has summed it up for me

 

10% or less is the typical number kicked around. They also don't tell you that it drops off a lot after a few years outside in the elements which degrades their performance.

 

I agree with bountyhunter. I have always heard a maximum of 10 percent efficiency, but that greatly depends on the panel, its position, and its age.
