So i've got a Hyper Tough AQ00017G. This is a single phase AC drill.

I would like to be able to plug the drill in and have it run at top speed

I opened it up, cut out the switch mechanism.
There are just 4 wires coming from the motor windings.
2 black and 2 white
we will call them B1, B2, W1 and W2.
I took a meter and tested and found B1 to W1 produces a beep on the meter.
similarly, B2 and W2 produces a beep on the meter.
Now i'm assuming the B1/W1 pair is a winding while B2/W2 is the other winding.
Would i need to wire in series with power? Line---->W1, B1----->B2, W2------>Neutral?
Do i also need a start capacitor between B1 and B2?
or
Would i need to wire the windings in parallel with power? Like Line----->B1,B2 and Neutral----->W1,W2?
assuming a start capacitor would go between Line and B1?

Most electric drills use series wound motors (Also called universal.) These motors have brushes. If you motor has brushes then it is probably a series wound motor, The wires to the armature (Via the brushes.) are connected in series with the field winding. The motor is reversed by reversing the connections to either the field or the armature. (But not both.)
