Hi All
I’ve bought a motorised train that runs off a single AAA for my son but it isn’t working so I opened it up to find the PCB is mashed.
It’s a 6pin switch and only 2 wires going to the PCB.
One wire is going to a terminal labelled V1 and goes to the negative terminal of the battery and the other wire I think goes to the motor (but can’t see) and that’s labelled VC.
If the PCB isn’t reusable, how can I wire in a new switch and what would the diagram look like?

Standard approach would be something like...
Using a slide or toggle switch with a centre off position so forward-off-reverse....

Take it back for a replacement.

If you're determined to try to fix it, post clearly focused pictures of the relevant parts so we can see what you're talking about.

 

Unfortunately I can’t return it so want to repair.

This is what was in place.

It’s only a forward or off, no reverse needed.

A 6 pin switch through a PCB and 2 wires coming off.

Without the PCB, I’m trying to understand what wiring i need to make to replace the function of the PCB.

If its only forward or off it only needs to break one wire to the motor, the other could be directly wired to the battery. Its possible they used both sides of the switch. Either way, battery would normally connect to the centre pin of the group of 3, and the output to a side pin. For a toggle switch its usually the side away from the toggle position, for a slide switch its usually on the same side as the slide position. eg:



Can you show us a pic of the PCB, both sides; it seems a bit unusual to use a pcb just to mount a switch.

 

If that is the wiring you only need and SPST switch.
