Do you watch Oak Island?

I did not like the episode. Content-wise it was fine, but what it suggests is distinctly not fine.

Unless they pull something out of the air, H8 is done as it can't continue without safety issues. Without H8, hope for any kind of major find this season decreases significantly.

That leaves us with the search for another entrance (for water) somewhere else on the island. The idea that finding such an entrance would allow them to pin-point the money pit, which they can not get to from digging on the surface is a deal breaker. The idea that they can find a route for water to enter under island ground seems like a foolish goose chase (I sense them putting dye in one spot and looking somewhere else for the dye).

All that is left is the show where they end the season with "I don't know if we are coming back".

I hope I am wrong.

I can't believe that two brothers who work in earth moving for a living, didn't use a sheepsfoot roller when they leveled out the money pit area. That area has been used and abused so much just dozing it flat was never going to support any future drilling.

That kind of question occurs to me frequently during the show. Here, we really do not know what they did or didn't do and consider. Additionally, they have brought in a several digging companies that, while making some good pay I assume, are risking their equipment and would likely have a vested interest in considering whether their rigs are going to end up 50 feet down. At least, I would think so, but they never tell us that stuff.

I think one brother was a postal worker.

Do you think they might pull something out of their butt and keep drilling?

I think H8 is done for the season except maybe a bit more grabbing. There are other ways they could continue.

I wonder if someone will take a look at the sonic mapping to see if there was a void detected below where they now have a sink hole. You don’t hear much about that lately.

I say fill it in and keep going. Fill it in multiple times if need be, keep going. Hang a zip cord for the operator, and keep going.

In my opinion they need to get rid of the water, or prove it’s impossible to do so. I don’t see how they hope to recover valuable artifacts from under water and mud without destroying them in the process.

They could do what they had to do when drilling gas wells on my property. My land is on what is called a Glacial Kame. Basically a big pile of loose sand and gravel several feet under the surface that was dumped by a retreating glacier. When they would pull the drill pipe out the hole would collapse. So they drilled a larger hole and back filled it with cement and then drilled through that for the well casings.

When I watch Project Blue Book they always show a snippet. They see it in smiths cove but, where else will it show, I think there is underground fishers that didn't exist prior to searchers, but since then I think the island is so tore up, you can't but help to leap to that conclusion.

Edit: Your video didn't show it coming in, the one I seen does.

They dye study was teased at the end of the last aired episode. It's what I alluded to in #217 (didn't want to spoil it).

Like Killivolt says they always show a trailer during Project Blue Book, that tells the premise of the next episode. That's how I knew about the ghostbusters.

Ahh ok. I don't remember it at the end of the last episode but I think I changed channels before the final "next time on Curse" - you ever notice that the shows seems to reliably run a few minutes after the hour?

As for Project Blue Book - only watched a few minutes of the first episode and couldn't get into it at all - reminded me too much of a retro x-files. But, I watch plenty of TV junk for reasons that I am probably just too ashamed to admit, so I can not fault anybody else.

So, what your saying is that the dye showed that the water in H8 came from outside the island and revealed the secret flood tunnel that will tell them exactly where the money pit is? What could go wrong? Sweet! :):):)

I haven't noticed because I record it. I depend on the snippet to arrive either via commercial or project blue book. I mostly turn it on for noise, pay attention a bit if I hear something worth listening to otherwise I'm doing something else. My wife gets mad at me cause it's always loud when she gets home:oops:

The snippet didn't elaborate where the dye was injected - or if they did, I missed it. But it was very clearly showing dye coming out into Smith's cove. Not all that surprising, but very cool.

The one I seen shows both inside smiths cove and H8. Also didn't see where they put it in.

Well that was underwhelming. I won't spoil it, but I saw some really bad science technique. Eyes rolling in my head.
