Like I said I just watched the last 15 -20 minutes, of the one starting at :)00 last night. But I do watch the whole Project Blue Book episodes that come on after Oak Island.
Yeah, but your post about the paranormal expert was last Thursday and last night's episode was new. What do you now and when did you know it! <cue X-files music>

I've said it a couple of times. It just seems that is how these shows that get popular, go now days. They get you hooked and then get stupid.

That's another joke between me and the wife. She can't stand Oak Island. I tell her when I'm on my death bed I'll call her close and whisper to her, "Oak Island". Like Rosebud in Citizen Kane. We both have a weird sense of humor.

The stupid is what the producers want in order to get their ROI, they introduce dude x (Don't know his name, unimportant) to try and explain the paranormal, I say it's another trail of Mother goose tails, dropping bread crumbs till they have something to tell or not. It maybe a ploy to dismember the end to continue, unsure or cast their lot with no support to continue? it could continue through this season to break to another season next year. But, maybe, the well is dry.

Cliff hanger? As usual in theater, let's keep the audience wanting more :)

It may very well have been simply a shotgun approach to getting an audience. As though they were saying something a long the lines of,....we have been pretty popular but maybe we can grab a few more "curse" aficionado.

The saving grace of that show was/is that the Brothers are rational people and they want to systematically find out what happened. I believe that. Yes, they will go along with a whole lot of crap for entertainment sake - presumably because they are getting paid or at least getting things financed.

At the end of the bogus episode, they were on with the paranormals and they were giving their spiel and the Brothers were just nodding their heads and saying things like - yeah, I can see that you are were startled. Then when asked what could make noise at the bottom of a drill hole, they simply said, well a lot of stuff.

But, if they keep going in that direction, I will just wait for the book or something.

I missed your point with my first reply. There was a trailer after the Feb 11 show, that showed the paranormal(unnormal?) guys.

Personally I think their losing audience and are reaching to bring in more people.

Season 6, episode 14 is a "Drilling Down" episode. They must have heard my complaint about the "curse" crap, because it's devoted to building a case for the curse story.

Tonight's episode, according to the preview here https://www.history.com/shows/the-c...14/preview-voyage-to-the-bottom-of-the-cenote , looks good - it better either deliver or outright tell us that the money pit has collapsed and they quit. After that ghost crap last week, they owe us big time!
Well I'm not holding my breath for any big revelation, but yeah it would be nice to get somewhere.

One thing I've been wondering is why they're dragging out the Smith's cove digging. The alignment of all those dams makes it pretty clear where previous efforts thought the drains/tunnels were. Why not focus there? Speculation: They found something pretty interesting there and will close the season with it's reveal. Given the short season up there, even finding and exposing the infamous french drains would be about all they could get done in a season.

Don't know, but they have an established record of dragging everything out (remember that gold coin?).

But, here is the thing about the structure in the Cove, and maybe it is just my ignorance....what, exactly would 1450-1550 explorers do when they have a big ship and they want to carry a bunch of stuff onto or off of the ship? It's not like you just tie the ship up to a tree on shore like you could do with a rowboat.

I mean that seriously, I just don't have the knowledge, historical, or otherwise. Is there anything about that structure so far that would preclude it for being connected to how one would transport items to and from a large ship that is anchored off shore far enough to not be grounded?

I realize that I might not be making much sense :)

We'll see. I was interested until they found concrete. To me, that can only be 'modern' and suggests looking elsewhere. I wouldn't expect a wooden dock built before searcher activity could possibly still be found. But, it's Oak Island, so who knows.

I certainly would not bet against it being modern.

Maybe they should switch it to Ghosts of Oak Island...then the brothers can write a tell-all book...The Making (or Faking) of Oak Island...finally, they can somehow integrate the whole mess into the Marvel Universe and have Margot Robbie play a villain because, well, because she has a great villain smile.

I think we can count on that eventually. Frankly I'd be interested in a behind-the-scenes look at how reality gets so screwed up on its way to becoming the show. One episode should cover a season in a chronological fashion, and cover a day or week in details so that we have some sense of what the operation is really like. The waiting, the weather, the frustrations and excitement. The staging for the cameras. Lose all the hype for once.

Whats weird to me is when that dude and the Ghost hunter is standing next to H8 and they hear something pound against the side spooking them. Then they have a collapse, near H8, very much like where they were standing. We almost had a death in my mind, maybe too coincidental.

I haven't watched the episode, I plan to tonight. I hope I'm not let down.

I'm glad to see them finally do an off-shore survey. The lack of that in previous seasons has been a pet peeve of mine. The teaser for next week shows them doing another test I've been wanting to see done.

I thought this episode was pretty good, as they go. Not a happy ending though.

Don't get your hopes too high. My suggestion of just watching the last 15 -20 minutes still stands with the last episode.
A giant sink hole? I think what ever is down there if anything will stay down there. Maybe if they find the source of water to the island.

This may well be the end of all ends. Smiths cove looks much better or even the swamp, I still want to see where the star map takes them. They've not gone down that road yet.
