DIY PCB USB A dimensions

Hi I am in the process of designing a novelty PCB project and wish to be able to charge said project in a USB port.

I've looked quite extensively for a couple of hours and can't find information of the dimensions of a PCB USB A plug.

I'd like to design the PCB with the USB plug integral to the board.

If some kind soul could direct me to a page with the dimensions of this type of USB plug I would be most grateful?

Well that's quite useful but I'm wanting to design my PCB to include an integral USB plug in the way of some USB sticks on the market, and I'm looking for the copper pad dimensions of the USB pads.

Thanks in advance.

The data sheets include pin spacing dimensions for each part. The only place I've seen pad dimensions are in eagle cad software when selecting a desired part from the library. I'd have to suggest finding the part you like best from the link above, make sure it's in your design part library and look at the pad dimensions there.

Umm it seems like such an easy question until one starts to come up against obstacles. I'm thinking of getting my vernier callipers out and simply measuring the various dimensions on a suitable memory stick! Thanks for your help. Kind Regards. South

My mistake. I guess I didn't understand that you wanted to create the usb contacts. After looking at the link posted by Jon C. I better understand what you're after. Sorry for the run around. ;) Good luck!

Most vendors now have CAD files for the parts. Digikey.com for example is linked to
Ultra Librarian
and
SnapMagic

There are many places to get CAD files for the parts. Most places require to sign in. There is a good chance that the CAD software has files for many USB connectors.

Does nobody read replies that have already been made? He's not looking for a footprint FOR a CONNECTOR. He's looking to use the PCB AS the connector.

Umm in actual fact no it isn't, its going to be an elephant key ring with a few LEDs and a super capacitor!
