can i use general purpose diodes in my driver circuit to power my mosfet irf 640 0r 840 instead of ultrafast recovery diodes?

    Likely you can't.
But without a schematic we're only guessing.

I see only standard diodes in that schematic, so don't understand your question.

UF4007 is an ultra fast diode that's what the UF stands for. Do not use a standard diode in this position.
Driver I.C's like the IR2153D have the diode built in, but the IR2153 does not.

    Missed that.
Thought is was just a variant of the standard 1N4007 diode.
It seems to me it's bad form for a manufaturer to use the same number for two entirely different types of diodes.

Yes I agree, should have a completely different number.

UF4007 and 1N4007 are different enough.

The UF diodes use the same methodology for specifying voltage. It would be worse if they came up with a different, but equivalent, numbering scheme; like Diodes Inc did for their 1N54xx series:

i used general purposed diodes in my driver circuit i got low side gate pulse from the driver but i could not see high side gate pulse.
