Do diodes have any other kind of losses, other than conduction losses?

 

Reverse leakage losses are a function of junction temperature and reverse voltage.

Switching losses are an issue in switching power supplies--a function of switching frequency and reverse recovery time--while the junction is recovering, there is a brief instant when both the reverse voltage and current are high enough to generate serious power dissipation.

Do diodes have any other kind of losses, other than conduction losses?

Yes, they have PARAMETRIC losses. This is due to the change in capacitance depending on the junction voltage, which at radio frequencies can contribute to overall losses and create other bizarre effects. It can be used to advantage in devices like Varactor multipliers and parametric amplifiers, however.

Parametric losses are somewhat similar to some other physical analogies such as Landau damping or the coriolis effect, where there is no apparent EXTERNAL contribution to the energy, but internally there is an APPARENT net gain (or loss)

The ability of a child to get a swing swinging without an external "push" is probably the closest mechanical equivalent to parametric amplification we have.
