And even if the body diode were a schottky it would have worse parameters than an actual diode because it is a side effect of the transistor design and is not optimised.

And if you want current to flow in the forward direction (i.e. not through the body diode) then the voltage drop will be at least the threshold Vgs (i.e a few volts for significant current).
