Dimming 170w of LED spots

Hello all,

I need an option to dim 24 LED spots in total of 170w. They are all connected on the same circuit and I can’t split them since the wall the switch is mounted is concrete and would be very hard to add extra wires. First idea was to use a Dimming Finder Relay but the maximum power supported for LEDs is 100w. Next, started searching for a simple dimming switch that can manage that power but again no luck. Any ideas? The LED spots are 230v and need an R,C dimmer type: https://en.paulmann.com/luminaires/...ite-1-piece-set-dimmable-and-swivelling/92906

Thanks!

Depending on how dim you need to dim those lights an ordinary dimmer may work very well. Of course the LED devices must be the dimable kind. The typical wall-box dimmers are good for either 400 watts or 600 watts , depending on brand and model. But dimming LED lights is interesting because they don't all dim the same, and the brand of dimer matters also.

"Universal dimmers

Universal dimmers are dimmers which automatically determine the load type connected to their outputs (resistive, inductive or capacitive) and switch over accordingly to leading-edge phase mode (for a resistive or inductive load such as incandescent lamps or LV halogen lamps with an upstream conventional transformer) or trailing-edge phase mode (for a capacitive load such as LV halogen lamps with an upstream electronic transformer)."

This is the actual spot model. You can find more details in the description.

Ok the product page it says they need an R,C type dimmer and on Paulmann support section found this table explaining the dimmer types:

So it should be a phased dimmer for an electronic transformer. Found some models but they don't support 170w.
Do you know any models that would fit this requirement?

Thanks

The ones I have seen are high end modular type, from companies like Siemens, but I don't know about one that will fit in a standard wall switch box.

What is an R,C dimmer?
This response may be a bit late, but it is in reply to ;What is an RC dimmer?" They are the simplest dimmers made, using just a single resistor and capacitor to set the trigger time for the series triac. The system works very well for incandescent lights, but for other types it does not deliver the full range of dimming. So they may work for your application, depending on how much dimming you require. They are certainly the least expensive dimmers available.

From the video the 230vac dimmable LED uses a conventional leading-edge phase dimmer, or what I call a basic light dimmer.
