I believe all digital multimeters read plus and minus current.

 

I was looking at digikey.com and they have the AC and DC meters all listed together. I do not see a filter to separate them. If the current is rated 0-100A it is an AC meter. It is rated at +/-100A it is a DC meter. Then there are meters that are not clear what they measure. Be care full when ordering a meter.

 

My small Fluke DMM reads both positive and negative directions of current, and voltage. Likewise my BECKMAN 4 1/2 digit DMM reads both positive and negative directions of current.
