Last time, I used L297 & L298 driver for bipolar motor, but L298 has 2A limit. Please help in designing L298 with discrete components. I want to use mosfets instead of transistors.

Thanks

I have IRFZ44 n-mosfet and its equivalent p-mosfet (not remember its name). I will try to use 12-24v and adjustable current through L297's Vref volt and bridge's sense resistor combination.

I want L298 to use with L297,but L298 made with discrete components. For designing L298 with discrete components, I want to use power mosfets instead of power transistors.

I found someone designed L298 with discrete components. Here he used transistors but I want to use Mosfets (IRFZ44 n-mosfet and its equivalent p-mosfet).

Please help me how to replace transistors with n or p mosfets. I should work with L297 directly for bipolar stepper motor like L298 chip.

HP1729, your suggestion will result in smoking rubble, as once the P-channel MOSFETs are turned on their is no current path to turn them back off, and when their corresponding N-channel MOSFET turns on, the current from the source will be limited only by the Rds (ON) of the MOSFETs and the sense resistor.

Thank you, of course you are right. Not a big problem to add a few resistors.
