Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum so if my post is not related, please forgive me.

I'm building simulation model of 50HP, 460V AC Induction motor powered by a DC supply. How can I find the required Vdc needed to operate the AC motor?

Thank you for your help.

460 x 1.414 = 650 VDC.

I'm assuming you are building a custom Variable Frequency Drive given putting DC power to a 3 phase AC motor will just make a lot of smoke.

You also need a very large capacitor bank for a 50HP motor!
In the case of a VFD, the DC can be quite a degree higher than the rated motor voltage as the mean level of the AC and frequency produced is set to a desired level by the power electronics.
