DC clamp meter reading different values if reversed

Hi,

I was trying to check the amp of a 24v DC circuit, and noticed that the amperage reading is different if I place the clamp facing a different end of the wire.

Same happens to the negative wire.

Any clue of whats happening here?

Check the manual. Since it is a DC probe it likely responds to residual magnetism in the pickup inductor's core. For Gaussmeters I had use degauss the probe or zero the amplifier (been over 40 years) between measurements otherwise as the probe became magnetized an offset would show up in the reading. As I said, check the manual.

Thank you so much for the replies.

Reading with no conductor is 0, however something is wrong with the meter for sure.
I went to the roof to check on my solar panel string and the same happens.

The correct reading in 12.5A.

Edit: A reset of the Zero value did the trick, all good now! Once again, thank you
