I'm wiring a DAC0808 (technically an MC1408P8) to a PIC18. I'm aware that the DAC's output should be wired to an op-amp. The datasheet's typical config diagram says to use an LF351. My goal is to have an output from 0V (0x00) to 5V (0xFF). The only op-amps I have in arm's reach are LMC6482s, and furthermore, all of my power is 5V or 12V. I'm under the impression that I can set the DAC0808's REF input at 5V, use an LMC6482 on the output, and successfully input 00 to FF and swing from 0-5V. Is this smart?
