Hey guys. I'm looking for any way to increase the output of this cheap 7w transmitter. Attached to the heatsink is a RD06HVF1 175MHz 6W transistor.
Could it be as easy as swapping this out for a higher powered chip?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Perhaps a RD15 might work:

What would be the correct way to test this with a multimeter? I had a probe around and the only reading I'm getting is between 8v - 11v between DRAIN and GND

 

Hello,

You can probably measure the RF input (at the gate of the fet) using a good scope.
A multimeter will only mearsure DC or AC upto a couple of kHz.
