First of all I apologize if this is too simple a question for this forum - I'm not an electrician but needed some help with a problem and Google led me here.

I recently purchased a house and am trying to work on getting one of the light fixtures replaced. My circuit breaker panel is terrible and almost nothing is marked. I needed to find out which circuit this light fixture is on and found the correct breaker - everything on that circuit powered off when I turned off the breaker.

I turned it on about 30 seconds later but nothing on that circuit is working again - it's as if the breaker is still off off.

Any idea what this might be? Is the breaker bad?

Thank in advance for any insight.

Understood. In this case my problem was caused by stupidity. My mind isn't is sharp as it used to be apparently and I got my breakers mixed up. There was no problem to begin with. Lesson learned.

Thank you for reading this and I find the information here valuable. I hope I won't need any help in the future!
