Whenever we apply an ac voltage to a crystal it vibrates with the frquency of the applied voltage signal conversely whenever we set a crystal vibrating mechanically it generates Ac voltage. This is Piezoelectric Effect as we all know.
i'm stuck up with one thing ;
1) in a wrist watch the quartz crystal used generates a sinosoidal signal as oscillations or a square wave signal (when resonates).
As far as i know the digital circuitary is used in a watch and in such a case does it produce square signal or sine signal.
2)Can a crystal generate square oscillations?
3) where can i get more information about this ?

A crystal produces only sinuisoidal signals, in the same way that vibrates. It is the digital circuitry attached to it that "converts" this signal into a square wave.
