Hi,

I am needing to switch an independent circuit, and cant see where I am going wrong with my breadboard layout for the AQY280EH SSR. When I close the switch on the input side, I do not get the relay closing on the output side. Any input would be appreciated.

Do you have a current limiting resistor on the input side of the relay module.?

If you don't have any current-limiting resistor on the input, you have probably fried the input LED. The maximum permissible LED current is 50mA.

No I did not include one. Probably fried it as has been mentioned below. I will calculate the correct value resistor and order another relay. Appreciate the help very much!

 

Hello,

I will take a led current of 10 mA for the calculation, as the relay needs at least 3 mA to be full on, but lower that 50 mA.
You can calculate the resistor as followed:
R = (V_supply-V_led)/I_led = (5 - 1.25) / 0.01 = 375 Ohms
A resistor of 390 Ohms Will work fine.
