Most people know exactly why cases are important because it's common sense. Cases are how we measure virus transmission. Low transmission mean low probabilities of deaths and hospitalization in the at risk groups. High transmission mean high probabilities of deaths and hospitalization in the at risk groups. If you never get infected because high vaccination levels have reduced the risk to very low levels then you don't need horse paste.
It's not rocket science.

So if someone has a case of the Flu,
( which is exactly how the CDC described Covid when it first was announced,
buried on the CDC website, the announcement is still there),
Then we know how many people will die from the Flu.

Nobody died from the Flu, or Obesity, or Diabetes this last year,
even though there were plenty of "cases" just like the year before,
THEY ALL DIED FROM COVID !!!!!

As a kid I used to get Bronchitis at least once a year,
but when I started smoking at age 15, I never again experienced
Bronchitis, or the Flu, or anything other than just occasional Head-Colds,
that must mean that smoking cures Bronchitis !!!!
And now I haven't even had a Cold in around ~25-years.
( or maybe it was all that Pot I smoked in High-School, cured me of everything )

Did You know that there are people being imprisoned for
promoting Hydroxychloroquine in Australia ?
I wonder how long it will take for that type of thing to start in the USA.

Has anyone noticed that they continuously harp on "Cases" ?
(Some text removed for brevity)

As an aside: What is a "case" anyway? In some places at some times a case is a very sick person who tested positive, in other circumstances, a case may be a co-worked of somebody or somebody who was in the same restaurant at the same time as somebody who has taken ill. It is poorly defined and the numbers we have been getting all along have been "Furkled" for various purposes.

I love when people feign ignorance, clams something is vague or other people are changing the rules when they don't want to know an answer but they'll research an unknown topic for no apparent reason other than to prove someone else wrong.
The WHO has clearly defined..
- Suspected Cases
- Probable Cases
- Confirmed Cases

Google works for all questions, not just electronics, try it.

These terms have changed over time. They may have been defined by WHO but in different parts of the world they are sometimes used differently and rather loosely by the press.

Definition of a "case" has been changed at will by whatever "authority" needed to change it. This may be WHO, your federal or local governements or health authorities. It will make for an interesting but very difficult paper sometime down the road to go through all of that and what impact changing these definition will have had

I'm going to assume that you don't actually have any evidence.

This is a classic argument from ignorance - We don't know that x is not true, so it must be true.
.
I guess You missed the link to the above video.
.............................................................................................................
.
This is not an argument,
and You have no idea of whether I am ignorant on the subject or not.
I was making a casual comment based on my research,
no "claims" were made,
how did you get that there was some sort of argument on this particular subject ?????
Both Naval-Intelligence and the NSA are secret operations,
few people have any idea of what they're up to.
Are You trying to make a derogatory comment when
You do even know the context of the statement ??
You're giving yourself a questionable reputation.
Please get verification next time.

They changed their position based on new observations - that is what science does, and it is also why Hydroxychloroquine is not recommended for Covid-19.

Ever ask yourself WHY ????
This is called "begging the question". You keep doing it.

You are using the question as proof that your claims are true, but that is not evidence.

The other day someone said that you sound like someone the knew that had fallen for q-anon, you said that you were nothing like that. However you then made a prophecy in a VERY q-anon way.

Tell me please, what do You personally "know" about "Q" or the "Q-Anons".
I'd be willing to bet it's a big fat ZERO.

I could give You the ~200-year history of the various "Q" groups,
but it's not appropriate here.
And You probably thought that "Q" was some guy in his Moms Basement.

As me: Yes, no big surprises but it is easy to see how his interview did not fit the YouTube narrative.

As moderator: It is clear that @jgessling has a point. What should be a civil discussion has started to become pretty personal with personal challenges being laid down.
