They sent many thousands of vaccinations to Thailand with the condition that some of it be made available to U.S. Citizens. One Saturday last month the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok sent out email to registered Americans living in Thailand stating that the next afternoon vaccinations would be available at one particular hospital in Bangkok. Two problems: Getting to Bangkok that quickly is kind of difficult given that the airports in Bangkok were closed, the need to isolate for a time after arriving and with restrictions on travel among provinces, and two, though there are tens of thousands of us, only 100 vaccinations were available.

 

False positives are a thing, still. Difficult to prove, but enough to question certainty.

Oh yes, absolutely. While overall the test are accurate there are false positives. The governor here in Ohio actually tested positive one morning and in a later the same day tested negative. It was either a false positive or a remarkable recovery in hours. Go figure. I think the test have improved resulting in fewer false positives but yes, they still do happen.

Well that sucks. This is where the US State Department should be sending vaccine to our embassies (in a plain wrapper) and the embassies should handle distribution, including getting the vaccine out to outlying areas. Thailand is a big place and hard to get around with plenty of isolated areas. Distributing vaccine as foreign aid to many countries is like distributing any foreign aid. The stuff seems to seldom reach those it was intended for. Hati earthquake relief aid is a good example. The supplies end up on the black market.

<EDIT> I should point out where I mention a plain brown wrapper it simply means to ship the vaccine properly including required refrigeration and such. I did not mean it literally.

Today in my local hospital ICU:
Total of 111 people with the virus (probably breathing oxygen on a ventilator).
3 are fully vaccinated (maybe they are very old or have another severe lungs illness like asthma?).
108 are unvaccinated fools.

Today there is a huge cruise ship that boarded only fully vaccinated passengers. 28 tested today have the Covid-19 virus but all of them are fully vaccinated and have no symptoms. Maybe the tests of thousands of passengers produced a few false positives?

My Wife found out her friend was in the hospital with the Virus, not sure which type but, her medical history is poor, she has holes in her heart from phen phen use, I personally feel my mother also was a victim of this as well, no proof no post mortem proof. My father wouldn’t allow it, my curiosity still lingers. I’ll fated or just a pharmaceutical drug causing a healthy body to deteriorate. Anyway, she’s now on a ventilator, my wife said she was foolish to listen to the crowd saying don’t VAX cause this or that, she is easily manipulated, always has been.

She was encouraged by her weight lifting muscle building son who died from a drug overdose to weight lift of course he pushed her to fast to soon, she ultimately injured her back which now she began to use Pain Killers to resolve the pain, we are now just discovering she was also very depressed I’m sure brought on by Opioid use, her husband got Hep C from a Blood Transfusion before they new about it, he died and along with her sons death, she didn’t care to live anymore.

At first she said she didn’t care to live, but progressively as most find out suddenly life isn’t so bad and that maybe living is better than dying a slow death. She earlier this week when they removed the intubation said am I going to die, Intubated again now they want to remove the tube but the risk of infection is great so, the choice is to leave a tracheotomy tube in her throat. Still I wonder is it better to just let her go, rather than leave her without regular speech ability which if you knew her was constant, always talking and interacting with others.

VAX or don’t I say, get on with the business of living or get on with the business of dying. Your choice, be careful which you choose, cause once done there is no going back to normal. What ever that is for you.

Every time I would get some crazy telemarketer call/telemarketer scam, i would think, "are people really so dumb that these calls really work -on anyone?"

Every time I get a call, email or invite letter to view a new Timeshare property I wonder, "are people really so stupid that the 'in perpetuity' clause means their heirs (and their heirs'-heirs) will be paying maintenance costs for the rest of their lives and a Timeshare is not an investment, it is a commitment and burden. Who would buy into such a stupid commitment?"

Every time I see an ad for on-line university with promises of a degree in x-months (but no evidence ANYONE got a job based on the degree from that university, I wonder, "who would buy into they mess".

Every time I see a list of college degrees and see majors like, Art History, Comparative Literature, non-profit fundraising, Education Support Services, Interdisciplinary Studies, or similar - I wonder what kid is so dumb that they would take on student load debt to get a job that doesn't pay well enough to pay off the loan?

It's really no longer a mystery to me after seeing the "reasons" behind not wanting to get vaccinated.

I am sorry to hear about your mother. Please understand that I do not mean any disrespect by taking phen phen as an example that relates to the question of whether to vax or not.

My first wife suffered heart valve damage after using the approved drug, phen phen for over a year, that many people used without any problem (until the effect was detected).

This echos the thalidomide story, in which it was heavily relied upon by pregnant women among others for the four years after its introduction into mass use until the link between birth defects and the drug was established.

 

 

On the news today a daycare center discovered that one of its kids was sent there with obvious Covid-19 symptoms a couple of weeks ago. The daycare center tested all the kids and found 15 who caught the virus from the one kid. One teacher also caught it.
That was a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday the mother of a kid who goes there saw the news and got herself, her kid and her husband tested and now they are all positive. The adults are fully vaccinated so they have no symptoms but they have been spreading the virus to their friends and their kids who also now test positive. The virus was sent all over the city.

Breaking News. 2 more kids from the daycare now have the virus.

Many US cities are forcing people to wear masks.
Old geezers my age but in old age homes soon will get a 3rd vaccine dose. The same for people with serious medical problems.
