OK please explain something to me. All of you who feel vaccination should be mandatory how exactly would such a mandate be carried out? Maybe create in an already bloated government in the US create a new board of vaccine? Create a squad in each state of The Vaccine Squad and they travel around and forcibly vaccinate people. They strap them by force in a chair and jab them? There is no way to enforce such a mandate. So how would it be enforced? While this all sounds good there is no way to make it happen. You can lead a horse to water but ...

I find that lately people are too busy monitoring others.
Ain't that the truth.

And just what was used to do that eradication? We live in a different world now even since that eradication took place. The global economy took care of that. People fly in and out of countries now that were once isolated from each other.

And as long as there is a place and people for the covid to mutate from it will get stronger and more infectious. Just look at how it's going now and extrapolate from that to a few years from now. The ignorant propaganda that is being met as gospel is just astounding to me.

Wish I could really say what I mean about where this vaccine hesitancy is coming from, but if I do I'll get banned from the thread. The least political way is to just say, the people/party that was pushing for the vaccine to be done fast has now changed it's positions on it's use. Those that were for it are now against it.
Yes it was vaccine, given at childhood. For a very stable virus that does not jump species. You cannot compare these cases at all.

There is some interesting information out there. Make what you will of it and whether vaccines are a way to go or not

Peoples rights? I am vaccinated so that I will not become hospitalized or die from the Covid virus. Then I will be allowed to travel and attend many places that ban unvaccinated "fools".
My country of Canada has many people vaccinated and the lockdowns are ending.
Israel was the first country to vaccinate most of its population and have a very low daily case count and soon will offer a 3rd dose of Pfizer vaccine to eliminate any variants from unvaccinated people from other countries.

Are you sure about those things being true? There have been may zoophytic kinds of small pox, called by the names of the animals it's found in. And there is a form of polio found in our primate cousins. Since there eradication not much on going research on the real origins of them.

And covid was at one time thought not to jump species too.

United States with its "<Former U.S. president's name deleted by moderator> rights" leads the entire world with its very high number of daily cases and deaths.
Please refrain from nonsense politics and please spare me comments about my country. You slam my country? Pretty sad when you resort to nonsense politics. WE all are well aware you live in the center of the universe.

There are many "pox" viruses. It is pretty settled that smallpox only exists in humans.

This is a nice write up

Actually, last I read, it is Russia leading the world in vaccine hesitancy and coronavirus deaths. Or maybe it is propoganda

Well it is an experimental technology not to mention funded by some very lavish advertising campaigns by companies which (incidentally) just happen to be completely indemnified from liability. Maybe that doesn't concern you? No problem. That's YOUR prerogative. Just remember that everyone else has theirs...

The other side of the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few is...

Protecting the minority from the tyranny of the majority.

Of course how those ideas relate to public health is open to debate.

I believe that everyone should get vaccinated, but I'm also against forcing people.

I mean...what the hell are we going to do...send out vaccination squads to invade peoples homes and force the vaccine on them?

Fines?

Ostracization?

Welcome to dystopia.
put vaccine it in the water ?

You seem to have forgotten that most of the work developing the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines was done and waiting. It was developed for the SARS virus and worked for the covid(SARS also). So Not sure how "experimental" it really is.

And I understand about "prerogatives". I don't understand how an election can completely change a group of peoples outlook of a vaccines effectiveness or viability. When that happens prerogatives go right out the window for me.

My main concern is that long-term effects of the mRNA gene therapy has not been established. There are a lot of unanticipated (by those of us who are not insiders) side effects popping up, the news of which is swatted away like a housefly on the coffee table.

Not just that. For women, pfeizer, especially second dose, messes up their period. Do you think anyone is looking into why? My favorite article explained it as being due to stress from getting a vaccine. This was a throwback to diagnosing someone with hysteria. That is not a light side effect and is being completely ignored.

Todays cold is coronavirus from the "russian flu" pandemic of late 1800s. It lasted several years and killed many people. We developed natural immunity to it. So, what if we just entered an arms race with a virus? Who do you think will win?

In the end game it's not good for a virus to kill its host, so maybe if we are lucky 19 will mutate into a less deadly form and just live with us like the umpteen other bugs that don't kill.

Now I am hearing maybe a third booster for the Pfizer vaccine? That leaves me questioning if anyone actually has a handle on all of this?

Creating these vaccines in the time that they did was no small effort. Maybe "the boss" should adjust his expectations.
